You can know someone for years. Or at least, you think you do. And then one day — the version you believed in dissolves. The charm fades. The warmth flickers. The energy… shifts. And you see something you can’t unsee. The mask falls. And you’re left standing there, wondering how long you were loving a lie. It’s not just betrayal. It’s distortion. It’s the grief of realizing you were dancing with a version of someone -- not their soul, but their survival strategy. Not their truth, but their performance. That realization? It’s brutal. Because once you know, you know. You start to replay old moments — the gaslighting, the guilt-trips, the way they never really saw you… and suddenly, the pieces start clicking. What you once labeled as “just a rough patch” was actually emotional misalignment. What you used to excuse as “that’s just how they are” now feels like control. What you thought was love… might have been something else entirely. Here’s what I’ve learned: Some people wear masks to survive. Some wear them to manipulate. And knowing the difference will change your life. It’s okay to walk away from the version of them you used to love. It’s okay to grieve the illusion. It’s okay to say, “I see it now — and I choose something different.” Clarity hurts. But clarity also sets you free. If this stirred something in you, you’re not alone. 🔗 Stay ConnectedIf this truth stirred something in you… you can find me here — sharing more as it comes through.
